Welcome to the Town of Grottoes, Virginia

Chief Charlie's Kid's Fish Day

Mark your calendars! The Grottoes Police Department and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries will again be holding the annual Chief Charlie’s Kid’s Fish Day! As usual it will be held “rain or shine” on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 9 am to 2 pm. It’s going to be a fun-filled day of fishing, food, drinks, rides, and lots of prizes and activities for the kids and it’s fun for the parents too! This event will be held at Mountain View Park and is entirely cost free. There will be various attractions for children of all ages. However, fishing is limited to children 3-15 years of age broken down by the following times:

Ages 3-9 may fish from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Ages 10-15 may fish from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We are currently seeking donations to help fund this event. The only way that we will be able to continue this event is through generous donations from individuals and businesses. If you have any questions or would like to make a contribution, please contact the Police Department at (540) 249-5707.

*All children must be accompanied by an adult while participating in the activities at Chief Charlie’s Kid’s Fish Day. We hope to see you there!
